The National President Prof. Alphonsus Isara paid a working visit to Kogi State on Tuesday 26th of November 2024. During his visit he had a meeting with APHPN members at the Department of Community Medicine, College of Health Sciences, Federal University Lokoja.
In the meeting he formally inaugurated the APHPN Kogi State Branch, and encouraged the members to work as a body that will promote public health in the state. He also told them to work towards making the association known in Kogi State as one to reckon with on public health matters.
The Branch was given copies of the APHPN quarterly newsletter, and also encouraged to key into the ongoing capacity building programs at the National level.
The high point of the meeting was the inauguration of a substantive Executive Council (EXCO) that would drive the affairs of the association for the next couple of years, and the presentation of a copy of the APHPN constitution to the Chairman, APHPN Kogi State Branch.
The Chairman of the APHPN Health Education, Information and Communication (HEIC) Caucus, Prof. M. B. Sufiyan administered the oath of office to the newly elected EXCO members.
