The Association of Public Health Physicians of Nigeria (APHPN) is championing the celebration of this year’s World Health Day on the Plateau in partnership with the Plateau State Contributory HealthCare Management Agency (PLASCHEMA).
What began as a minor decision during her congress earlier this year has now snowballed into a hurricane sweeping across the health sector on the Plateau. The APHPN Chairman, Prof. Chundung Miner and the Congress inaugurated the World Health Day committee chaired by Prof. Mathilda Banwat. Initially planned to be an APHPN event, this celebration has garnered attention and support from major stakeholders in the health sector on the Plateau.
Several meetings have been held with the Honourable Commissioner of Health, Dr. Nicholas Ba’amlong, the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Directors in the ministry, APHPN, PLASCHEMA, World Health Organization (WHO), Staff of the Plateau SMoH and numerous development partners in attendance – all aimed at making this year’s celebration a huge success.
Several media engagements were also held to promote this event.
This event climaxes this year’s celebration which began last week with a press conference by the Honourable Commissioner of Health, Plateau State. This week’s activities initially planned to hold last week could not hold for security reasons. However calm has returned to the city.

*9:00 am: Symposium* at *Odilins Event Center*, Behind National Library, Jos.
History is being made.
