APHPN PLATEAU BRANCH WELCOMES THE GOLDEN PRESIDENT TO JOS

The Association of Public Health Physicians of Nigeria (APHPN) Plateau state branch welcomes her National president Prof. Alphonsus Isara to Jos the Plateau state capital during his two-day visit to the home of Peace and tourism.

The president on arrival was welcomed to the state by the state executive and other members of the association led by the state chairman Prof. Miner. In her welcome address, Prof. Miner thanked God for journey mercies and expressed her joy for seeing the golden president of the association in our state. She assured the president that he will enjoy his stay in Plateau State. Responding, the president thanked the chairman and her members for giving him a warm welcome to the state.

On the second day of his visit, the president had a meeting with the members of the association. During the meeting, the state chairman once again welcome the president and thanked him for creating time out of his busy schedule to have a discussion with the members of the association. Prof. Miner said there are many things to discuss but due to time, she asked the president to:

  1. Clarify the issues of membership of the association especially regarding those who have degree in a different field but did master’s degree in Public health
  2. If APHPN should be providing CME forms to the state branches so that we can be able to give those forms to participants instead of also depending on NMA for the forms.

In his response, the golden president said those with master’s in public health can be members of APHPN if they want to and are up to date with their dues. On the issues of CME forms, he said the association used to provide the CME forms in the past. He promised to activate the process again so that APHPN will be providing the CME forms to her state branches.

One of the major highlight of the meeting was the handing over of the APHPN constitution to the state chairman by the golden president.
