Following the inauguration of the pioneer executive members of our branch on the 3rd of March 2021, the excos set out to establish the secretariat and register the branch with the national body. The details of requirements for registration were sought from the then president in the person of Prof. BSC Uzochukwu.
We set up a WhatsApp group and added our members. We were eight (8) in number comprising five (5) consultants and three (3) residents.
Secondly, we canvassed for dues from members, forwarded same to the national body and we were duly registered and recognized as an existing branch. We publicized registered for the APHPN national conference/AGM held in Abuja in 2021.
Our branch was represented by the chairman and secretary in the person of Dr Mustapha Danimoh and Dr Rabiu Ibrahim.
2021: Our focus was to establish the secretariat and identify more members

Early 2022, we set out our agenda to publicize our Association in the state by visiting some of the public health agencies and institution within the state. A few include Ministry of Health, Gombe state Primary Health care development Agency (GSPHCDA), Gombe State AIDS Control Agency (GOMSACA), World Health Organization Gombe Branch, Gombe State Contributory Health Management Agency (Go Health) etc.
The aim of theses scheduled visits, was to publicize the association and seek for collaborations with these agencies towards promoting public Health in the State. We also planned to engage on membership drive to shore up our membership especially those working in these institutions.
We also planned to organize a program/activity to celebrate the World Health Day. In a bid to ensure safe keeping of our funds, we commenced the process of opening a bank account for our branch in First Bank of Nigeria PLC.
We requested for the Byelaws, letter of introduction and Certificate of incorporation of our association from the national body. This was promptly sent to us by the national secretariat to enable us to apply for the opening of bank account. The application had been submitted and is being processed.
As at the time of preparing this report, we had successfully carried out some of the visits and had identified new members who had joined our association.
We paid a courtesy call to the Gombe State Commissioner of Health, The Project manager GOMSACA, The executive Secretary of both GSPHCDA and Go Health. They were happy to know about us and pledged to collaborate with our associations in various capacities to promote and improve the health of Gombe State population.
As at the time of writing this report, we had forwarded all dues for 2021 and 2022 to the national body. We had also settled our debts with the editorial team for the journal of our dear association.
Presently we are focused on following up on other agencies as well as continue the membership drive, we had commenced. We also hope to be able to organize a public Health lecture during the World Health day celebration.
